What is an allergy?
An allergic reaction, an overreaction of the body’s immune system to a normally harmless substance, can cause a variety of symptoms.
Symptoms of Allergy
Allergic reactions can cause itchy, watery eyes, runny nose, itchy skin and rashes, and sneezing. Some allergies can also cause anaphylactic shock, which can be life-threatening. Anaphylactic shock is when the immune system overreacts to a foreign substance, causing symptoms such as difficulty breathing, and requires immediate medical treatment.
